New RACSA Email Service

As of this September 1st the RACSA Email shows a new appearance, integrated with new collaboration tools that will allow the user to access a more complete, modern and easier to use entourage of communication. Likewise the user will experiment a greater quickness on the sending and receiving of messages.

In addition to this, all the RACSA Email users will receive an increase in the capacity of their accounts, with 1 GB of capacity for the users of the Internet Services via Cable Modem, Wireless Internet via WiMax and Corporate Bandwidth Internet and 100 MB of capacity for the users of the Internet Services Via Telephone on the Limitless Internet, Personal Internet and Super Inexpensive Internet.

RACSA Messenger

Nowadays people look for security, varied services offers, access other people "always online" and very importantly, gather information. This is how RACSA Messenger Service arises as an option that meets all these requirements, providing scalability, communication in real time and administration of the options of presence.

The RACSA Messenger is an instantaneous messaging that allows the RACSA Email Service users to communicate in real time with other users of this service.

This is how this tool enables the sending of text, animated icons (GIF), files exchange, and even receive notices of the arrival of a new email at your inbox folder of RACSA’s mail or of programmed appointments or tasks in your personalized agenda. In addition you will be able to create a list of contacts of your friends, relatives and work mates who also use RACSA Messenger and in this way know if your contacts are connected and available, and send text messages each other.

To use RACSA Messenger, you will require to be subscribed to RACSA Email. In case you already have a RACSA Email account, you only need to use the mail’s username and password, entering them in the entry screen that will be displayed when clicking the RACSA Messenger pestaña in your email.

When starting the session in RACSA Messenger both the user as a contact (defined within the list of contacts), will be able to establish a Chat type conversation and even add to their conversation other RACSA Messenger users forming a "chat room". Likewise, surveys can be carried out or sending an attached file to the contact or contacts connected at that time. When sending a file, this transference must be accepted and care must be taken to avoid the reception of virus or programs with unknown extensions. In this regard it is advisable for the user to install a reliable antivirus to be periodically updated.

Personalized Agenda

All the options of a traditional agenda are now gathered together and improved as a complementary element of your RACSA Email, which can be accessed at any time of the day. Program your activities, check the availability of another user, make invitations to events and receive reminders in your email or RACSA Messenger. You only need to have a mail account @racsa.co.cr and access the Personalized Agenda option.

When these tools are accessible through the Internet the communication and organization possibilities increase considerably.

This is how the new RACSA Email Personalized Agenda will allow you to administer resources and time in an orderly and simple manner, providing all the individual and group collaboration characteristics to the users who benefit from this service. This tool will allow the events calendarization (add, modify and erase) specified by the user, users groups >calendarization @racsa.co.cr (as of time the users establish the permits), share the information of events, tasks administration, invitation generation via email, as well as receiving events or activities reminders or notices via email or RACSA Messenger.

YOUR RACSA EMAIL SERVICE NOW HAS A POWERFUL ANTI SPAM AND ANTI VIRUS

RACSA set in operation a powerful anti SPAM and anti Virus system, of Barracuda Networks, for your mail services, which are now "protected", since they filter around 95% of the unsolicited mails or the mails that carry a virus, addressed to the customers and users of its mail services .

Among other particularities, the new anti SPAM and anti Virus are updated each 60 minutes, being of the few in the world that prevent the passing of unsolicited mails with images SPAM, which is the one that is most being developed.

The filter automatically blocks the SPAM that it identifies as such from the crossing of information of hundreds of detection centers in the world, while the mails for which there are no world registries, it transfers them to a box in the Web Mail known as "Unsolicited mails" from which you will be able to see them and decide if you delete them or transfer them to your inbox folder, according to your interest. At the same time, it deletes the totality of mails that carry virus.

Currently there are some 5 million daily mails circulating in the country, and it is estimated that at least 3 million are unsolicited mails.

DIGITAL EMAIL CERTIFICATE

RACSA makes available to its mail users a Digital Safety Certificate by means of SSL/TLS technology. With this tool, the communications through email are transmitted in an encrypted way and the information transmitted can be trusted to be received privately and without alteration at the server with which the connection is established, in other words, the data transmitted are safe and cannot be altered.

With this facility what is aimed is to provide a safe communication channel to the users, where no person will be able to get the information contained within the body of the message transmitted, as well as the user or access password.

This certificate guarantees the protection of the information transmitted between the RACSA Email server and the navigator used by the user to access the webmail (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, Mozilla, among others), through 256 bytes coding, depending on the customer’s navigator capacity.  

What is SSL/TLS?

SSL are the abbreviations of safe connection layer (Secure Socket Layer), which is in charge of keeping a safe communication between two hosts regardless of which type of data it is sending. TLS aims to do this at a level of the TCP/IP layer, for this connection to be really transparent to the applications used by the final user.
